TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Nineteen people, including members of violent street gang the “Trap Boys,” pleaded guilty in an elaborate bank fraud conspiracy leaving a trail of victims not only across Florida but nationwide.
In a press conference on Wednesday, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida announced the indictment of 26-year-old Tyler Jacob and a number of his cohorts who pleaded guilty to aggravated identity theft, witness tampering and destruction of evidence.
According to the Middle District U.S. Attorney, Gregory W. Kehoe, as early as June 2022, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office apprehended Jacobs and conducted a search of his vehicle during which they initially found evidence of the check fraud scheme including altered checks, information of other people written on a notepad, 27 bank debit cards in various names, and a computer…
