Police Search For Hit-And-Run Driver After Two Pedestrians Seriously Injured In St. Petersburg

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Two pedestrians were hospitalized with serious injuries late Friday night after a hit-and-run driver struck them at a St. Petersburg intersection.

The incident occurred at 10:55 p.m. on September 4th at the intersection of 40th Avenue North and 49th Street North. According to the St. Petersburg Police Department, a 19-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man were walking southbound along the east side of 49th Street North and were crossing 40th Avenue North when a truck hit them.

Investigators said a white pickup truck traveling southbound on 49th Street North made a left turn onto 40th Avenue North, striking both pedestrians. The driver did not stop after the collision and continued eastbound on 40th Avenue North away from the scene…
