What started as a routine traffic stop in Tampa ended with Hillsborough County detectives hauling away a small arsenal and a bullet-resistant vest from a North Armenia Avenue home, and a 25-year-old man in handcuffs.
Deputies say 25-year-old Carnel Daniels was arrested Thursday after members of the Sheriff’s Office Strategic Gun Intelligence Unit pulled him over, then used that stop to secure a search warrant for his residence. Inside, investigators reported finding five firearms, ammunition, a bullet-resistant vest with steel plates, a crossbow and a pepper-ball gun. Daniels now faces a stack of weapons-related charges.
