A love letter to Cleveland for 20 wonderful years — and counting: Conor T. McLennan

Wars. Illnesses. Extreme weather. Economic concerns. The news can be heavy. This isn’t an excuse to stick our heads in the sand. Like many of you, I believe it’s imperative to stay up to-date with current events. It is our individual and collective responsibility to remain an informed citizenry and electorate. Nevertheless, I thought a positive story might be appreciated.

My wife and I moved from Buffalo, New York, to Cleveland 20 years ago. As our second decade ends, I’ve been reflecting on our time here. We’ve had two daughters, our household’s native Clevelanders. Our older daughter just graduated high school and our younger finished ninth grade. The fact they’ve both thrived here certainly contributes to why I love Cleveland.

At the risk of sounding Pollyannaish, I’ll cover some reasons why I love Cleveland. The list is not exhaustive nor the descriptions detailed, and some of what I’ll mention falls outside city limits. I’m thinking the Greater Cleveland area…
