Victim identified after body pulled from Cuyahoga River in Cleveland

CLEVELAND (WJW) – The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim whose body was recovered from the Cuyahoga River in Cleveland last week.

According to investigators, rescue crews responded to The Flats on Tuesday, June 23, after a man reportedly tried to swim across the Cuyahoga River from Riverbend Street to Merwin Avenue, as FOX 8 previously reported.

I-Team: Newburgh Heights police in unmarked truck clocking speeders again

Investigators said the man, later identified as 38-year-old Darnell Miller, went under the water approximately 20 feet from the edge of the river and never came back to the surface.

Because of low visibility and poor water conditions at the time, the search was suspended in the early morning hours, investigators said…
