Families scramble to find temporary housing after Euclid apartment building condemned

CLEVELAND — With the entire state experiencing dangerous heat, people are being told to stay indoors. It’s a directive that might not be possible to follow for families living at the Lakeland Commons apartment complex in Euclid.

“People in here been struggling all day and night trying to get this stuff out of here, waiting on elevators to come down,” said Ty Henderson, a Lakeland Commons resident.

Last Tuesday, Henderson came home to a notice taped to her door. The City of Euclid had condemned the building, declaring it “unfit for human habitation.”…
