Sentencing for man guilty of carjacking, shooting Cleveland woman

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – The man guilty of multiple counts for the shooting and carjacking of a Cleveland woman on the city’s West Side earlier this year will hear his sentence on Tuesday afternoon.

The trial for Ronald Loftis began on June 15 in Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas, and a jury found him guilty on June 22.

Loftis was convicted of:

  • Three counts of aggravated robbery
  • Four counts of robbery
  • Three counts of felonious assault
  • One count of unlawful use of a weapon by a career criminal
  • One count of having weapons under disability
  • One count of grand theft
