FAIRLAWN, Ohio (WJW) — A Summit County landmark turned off its lights and closed its doors for the final time after nearly 75 years in business.

The Skyway drive-in restaurant in Fairlawn served its final round of burgers, fries and shakes on Saturday, July 11.
“For more than seven decades, Skyway has been so much more than a restaurant—it has been a tradition, a gathering place, and a piece of our community’s story,” a post on the restaurant’s Facebook page said.
At one time there were several locations across the Akron and Medina areas, but the Fairlawn restaurant was the chain’s last location.
“For countless people, the taste of one of a Ski Hi or a milkshake instantly brings back memories of warm summer evenings, classic cars, laughter with friends, and the feeling of home. Those memories are the true measure of what Skyway became,” the post said…
