Laconia Motorcycle Week Leader Charlie St. Clair Dies After Ohio Crash Injuries in Cleveland Hospital, Leaving New Hampshire Riders and Organizers Mourning

LACONIA, NH — Charlie St. Clair, the longtime executive director of Laconia Motorcycle Week, died Saturday after suffering injuries in a motorcycle crash in Ohio, according to the Laconia Motorcycle Week Association. He died at a hospital in Cleveland after doctors tried to save him.

The association said his injuries were too severe and that he later died from heart failure. St. Clair had been a familiar figure behind one of New Hampshire’s best-known summer events, and his death prompted an outpouring of grief from colleagues, friends, and riders. The organization said it will share service information once plans are finalized.

In a statement, the association thanked hospital staff for their care and also acknowledged the many people who reached out with calls, messages, prayers, cards, and support.
