Child hit by unmarked police vehicle: OSHP

WEATHERSFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) – The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that involved an unmarked police vehicle hitting a child.

The crash happened around 12:50 p.m. Wednesday on Prospect Street, east of state Route 46.

A Weathersfield Township police officer was driving the unmarked Ford Explorer eastbound on Prospect Street when a boy “traveling northbound” entered Prospect Street from the south side of the road, according to a news release from OSHP.

The release does not state whether the boy was on foot or a bicycle at the time.
