CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Guardians return to Progressive Field on Friday riding baseball’s longest active winning streak as they open a three-game series against a Royals club that has been nearly as hot.
Cleveland has won seven straight and eight of 10 to climb within 2 1/2 games of the White Sox in the AL Central while opening a two-game cushion over Texas for the final AL wild card. Kansas City, meanwhile, has won 10 of 11 after pounding Toronto, 13-2, on Thursday.
