A scorcher? Fox 8 2024 summer weather outlook

CLEVELAND (WJW) — We’re looking forward to a warmer, 8-day stretch these next several days of spring. But what about long term?

The FOX 8 weather term has been analyzing the data, ready to break down the extended summer outlook, which typically focuses on June, July and August.

When it comes to thunderstorms, May and June will be the most active. Things will start to calm down by mid to late-June, but as we edge toward August, expect a drier period.

When it comes to the heat, we’re expecting 15 to 20 90-degree days this summer. That’s above the average of 13 days.

The majority of those hot days will be in the back-half of summer, with some expected in early September.
