CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – 12,000 mail-in ballots have not been returned to the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections, and officials say the window to get them in is closing fast.
Under Senate Bill 293, ballots must be in the board’s hands by 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Postmarks no longer count.
“The post office will tell you that typically it takes them three to five days to deliver mail,” said Tony Perlatti, director of the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections. “And I had started this by saying Election Day is in five days. I am not much of a gambling person when it comes to this voting process. I like a for sure thing. The safest thing is for you to personally drive it down here to the board’s office.”
Check ballot status before Tuesday
Perlatti said voters should check the board’s Track My Ballot tool online or call the board before Tuesday. If a ballot has not been received, voters should go to their polling location and vote in person…
