EUCLID, Ohio (WJW) – Euclid Animal Control officers say a dog they recently rescued that was badly neglected is now hospitalized with suspected parvo.
Xenia was rescued in April. When she was found, her body was covered in sores and she weighed only 19 pounds.
She was improving and gaining weight, but a few days ago she became very ill and is now at a veterinary hospital.

“She was finally starting to show signs of strength again,” Euclid Animal Shelter officials posted on Facebook. “Her bone marrow had finally started responding. She was gaining weight. Healing. This dog has fought for every single ounce gained. Every healthy blood cell. Every patch of fur growing back. She was finally starting to have happy days instead of just surviving. And now today she is hospitalized.”…
