Bear relocated from Peterson Space Force Base golf course

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Peterson Space Force Base said on Tuesday, June 2, that a bear needed to be relocated after it wandered onto the base’s golf course.

Thanks to rapid coordination between the 21st Security Forces Squadron, the 21st Civil Engineer Fire Department, and Colorado Parks and Wildlife, the bear was safely sedated.

The bear was taken off base for relocation. Peterson SFB said it is incredibly proud of how these agencies worked together to protect both installation personnel and wildlife.

The installation wants to remind personnel that wildlife is unpredictable. Never approach a wild animal on base. Keep your distance and contact Peterson Space Force Base Command Post at (719) 556-4555 to report any sightings…
