Parks and Wildlife sharing tips on how to stay bear aware this summer in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – Colorado Parks and Wildlife is reminding residents to secure trash, remove bird feeders at night and avoid attracting bears as human-bear conflicts continue to rise across Colorado Springs.

According to Colorado Parks and Wildlife, there have been 219 reported human-bear conflict incidents so far this year through June 11. Of those, 215 have occurred since April 1, and wildlife officials say the number continues to climb every day.
