Hot weather and monsoon moisture remain over the state, leaving us with high temperatures in the 90s and 100s over Colorado Springs and Pueblo.
With these super hot temperatures comes a HEAT ADVISORY, which remains in effect until 9 PM Saturday, and will return by 11 AM Sunday. Avoid any outdoor work or activities that could make you ill during the mid afternoon hours. Wear sunscreen and drink plenty of water, even if you don’t feel thirsty.
Monsoon moisture will continue to drift our way from the Southwestern US border. This moisture will help fire off late afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms, mainly in the mountains and foothills. We should get some cooling rain between 4 and 8 PM both Saturday and Sunday, and because these storms will be slow movers, localized creek, stream and street flooding may be possible…
