COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – Monse’s Pupuseria says it has sustained roughly $80,000 in vandalism damage at two of its Colorado Springs locations.
Co-owner Tim Hines said someone broke signs, left graffiti, and stripped motors and compressors from AC units at both the downtown location at the corner of Tejon and Colorado and the Old Colorado City location. He said he is not certain how people are accessing the building’s roof.
Owner seeks community awareness
Hines said he is filing a police report and is considering hiring overnight security. He said his goal in speaking out is to alert the community and determine whether other businesses are experiencing a similar pattern.
“The way I described to my wife is like, it looked like precision cuts,” Hines said. “It didn’t look like somebody was just hacking at it and yanking it off. It felt like somebody knows what they’re looking for.”
Downtown Partnership responds
The Downtown Partnership of Colorado Springs said it has not received reports of similar incidents from other businesses. The organization said its security team has responded to nearly 3,000 incidents between August 2025 and June 2026 and described its approach as proactive…
