CSPD: Suspect arrested after shooting into another vehicle

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — After a suspect fired a gun from his vehicle into another car, the victim reported the incident and followed the suspect until police arrived and initiated a vehicle chase that ended in an arrest, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD).

According to CSPD, at around 11 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 29, officers responded to reports of shots fired in the area of Printers Parkway and South Parkside Drive, near Airport Road, in which the person who called in stated that as he was driving, the suspect swerved into his vehicle and then shot at him. The victim stated that he continued to follow the suspect until officers found him in the area of Airport Road and Jewel Street.

Officers attempted a traffic stop, but the suspect sped away, according to CSPD, prompting a vehicle pursuit. Police successfully performed a Pursuit Intervention Technique (PIT) in the 100 block of South Parkside Drive, near Printer’s Parkway and Pikes Peak Avenue.
