(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Several residents have created their own version of a mini-chocolate factory at StoneCreek of Flying Horse, a senior community, and are learning to make sweet treats in a hands-on candy kitchen as they dip, mold, and decorate batches of homemade desserts.
Bonnie Burk, Marcia Bishop, and Louise Meyer are part of the resident-led chocolate club and joined others from their community to craft custom chocolate bars and chocolate-dipped favorites, each piece shaped and finished by hand.
The three chocolatiers compared notes on flavor combinations and dipping techniques as the group worked through the process together.
The club meets regularly at StoneCreek of Flying Horse, giving residents the chance to try new recipes and refine their chocolate-making skills.
