Two arrested after allegedly calling in false reports of explosives in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) says it has arrested two people after they allegedly called in false reports of explosives outside a business.

According to CSPD, around 9:30 a.m., officials received a report of a man handling suspected explosive items near Briargate Boulevard and Lexington Drive before entering a business. They say a second party called later about a suspicious man at the same intersection talking about explosives.

CSPD says that due to the perceived threat, the Regional Explosives Unit and Real Time Crime Center drone responded. A full sweep of the area using an explosives-detection K9 was conducted, and CSPD says no explosives, hazards or suspicious people were found…
