COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – A single mother and her eight children are trying to get back on their feet after a house fire on Tuesday destroyed everything except the clothes on their backs at the time.
Lucy, who chose not to disclose her last name, says she spent the past five years building a life for herself and her kids. She says she was at work on Tuesday when she got a call, learning six of her eight kids were inside when the fire broke out at their home near Galley and Peterson Roads.
“It was one of the worst calls that a mom could get at work,” Lucy said. “Me and my sisters lost our mom in 2023, and I have a lot of things in this home that are all I had from her.”…
