Home Sweet Home: Meet Jazzy

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — This week, FOX21 Morning News and the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region (HSPPR) are featuring Jazzy, a 10-year-old brown brindle Dutch Shepherd mix who came to HSPPR as an owner surrender.

Jazzy is a friendly, well-behaved senior pup who loves being near her people. She is potty and crate-trained and even enjoys an open crate as her safe space. HSPPR said Jazzy has experience around other dogs and has done well, but she is a little slower these days and may prefer another calm dog friend. Jazzy also knows sit, shake, and down.

Jazzy’s adoption fee is $99, which includes the voucher for a veterinarian exam, vaccinations, a microchip, and she is already spayed.

Cody Costra, Public Relations Manager for HSPPR, also discussed Animal Law Enforcement (ALE) Appreciation Week. He said last year, HSPPR ALE Officers responded to more than 53,000 calls for service. ALE Officers are tasked with investigating cruelty complaints, issuing summons and complaints, responding to aggressive dog reports, checking on injured animals, investigating noisy pet complaints, educating the public on animal laws and ordinances, picking up stray animals, appearing in court on animal-related cases, and executing search and arrest warrants…
