Student found with handgun at Sierra High School

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A student has been taken into custody after being found with a handgun in a bathroom at Sierra High School.

According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), a school resource officer (SRO) responded around 2:30 p.m. on Monday, April 27 after receiving a report that a student had allegedly used a gun to threaten another student in a bathroom.

CSPD said the SRO was able to identify the student who had allegedly made the threat, and during a pat-down, located a loaded handgun in the teen’s front waistband. No students were injured and the gun was not fired…
