COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – From the Teller County Sheriff’s Office to Colorado State Patrol and the Rifle Police Department, law enforcement across the state highlighted a text message scam on Thursday.
The message features an official-looking form, alerting the recipient that their “traffic violation account has been FORMALLY DECLARED DELINQUENT AND IN DEFAULT” and says the matter “HAS BEEN ESCALATED TO ACTIVE ENFORCEMENT STATUS.”
