Colorado slips into statewide drought as precipitation stays below average

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – For the first time since 2021, all of Colorado is now in some level of drought, according to the latest U.S. Drought Monitor.

The 11 Alert Weather Team reviewed how much moisture we’ve received since October 1, 2025, and the numbers show we’re running behind. Right now, we’re below average by a little more than 1.25 inches of liquid precipitation.
