Suspect arrested for stealing car, eluding officers in Colorado Springs: CSPD

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — On Wednesday, May 6, officers investigated a stolen vehicle, which eluded officers multiple times before being stopped.

On April 12, the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) investigated a stolen white Mazda 3, taken from the 3800 block of Somerset Street, near Austin Bluffs Parkway and North Union Boulevard. On Wednesday, CSPD Motor Vehicle Theft Unit detectives found the stolen Mazda and identified 24-year-old Tyler Green as the driver.

Detectives attempted a traffic stop on the Mazda near Constitution Avenue and Tutt Boulevard, but Green eluded officers. Detectives then found the Mazda in the 1400 block of Atoka Drive near Palmer Park and North Powers Boulevards, where detectives tried to block the vehicle in a driveway while Green was in the driver’s seat. Green accelerated from the block, hitting a police vehicle. Green allegedly caused damage to the Mazda, private property, and a police block truck before eluding police once more…
