Suspect allegedly tried hiding from police behind dryer

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) said on Thursday, May 14, a suspect allegedly tried to hide from police behind a dryer in a home near downtown Colorado Springs.

On Thursday at around 11:45 a.m., detectives with the Metro Narcotics Unit were in the area of the 1300 block of North El Paso Street near Unitah Street and Wahsatch Avenue when they saw a man identified as Jorge Rodriguez, who allegedly had several felony warrants for his arrest. CSPD said Rodriguez had a history of carrying guns and resisting arrest.

Detectives requested help from the CSPD Tactical Enforcement Unit (TEU) and the K9 Unit to help contact Rodriguez. While officers were responding, Rodriguez was seen entering a home…
