Fruita Monument girls relays make history at state meet

FRUITA, Colorado (KREX) — At Fruita Monument High School, speed is no longer just about winning races. It is about making history.

The Wildcats turned heads at the Colorado state track and field championships after delivering one of the most successful relay performances in program history. Competing in Colorado’s highest classification, Fruita Monument’s girls relay teams not only reached the podium, but also rewrote the school record books while training on a dirt track.

“Technically, we’re not one of the fastest,” Cambelle Bramer said. “We are the fastest because we have the school records by many seconds in both the 4×200 and the 4×400.”…
