(SOUTHERN COLORADO) — Today will start fairly nice across Southern Colorado, with a mix of sunshine and clouds through the morning, along with some drier conditions in place early on. As we head into the afternoon, showers and thunderstorms will begin to develop once again.
The main focus for afternoon storms will be around the Pikes Peak region and down toward the Raton Mesa and southern portions of the state, mainly along and south of the interstate corridor. The best chance for activity looks to be from the early afternoon through the evening hours. Severe weather is not expected to be much of a concern today since instability remains fairly limited. That means most storms will mainly bring a few rumbles of thunder, brief bursts of rain, and lightning.
If you have outdoor plans later today, conditions should generally be manageable, but you’ll still want to keep an eye on the sky during the afternoon and evening…
