Developer unveils plans for Brighton Technology Park property ahead of public hearing

CHAPIN, S.C. — The developer seeking to purchase Lexington County’s Brighton Technology Park property has publicly released plans for the site, offering the first detailed look at a proposal that has generated months of speculation and debate in the Chapin community.

Brighton Capital Partners says its vision for the roughly 200-acre county-owned property off Columbia Avenue near Interstate 26 includes a mix of residential development, retail space, commercial uses and job-creating flex space.

The announcement comes just days before a June 10 public hearing on the proposed sale of the property. County leaders stress that no sale has been approved and that the hearing is only the next step in the process…
