Family offers $150,000 reward in 25-year-old Shelton Sanders cold case

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – Sheriff Leon Lott and the Richland County Sheriff’s Department are seeking the public’s assistance in obtaining any information regarding the disappearance and homicide of Shelton John Sanders.

What started as a missing persons case turned into a homicide investigation and now a cold case. Friday marks 25 years since Sumter native Shelton Sanders went missing.

On June 19, 2001, 25-year-old Shelton Sanders was last seen at 1132 Olympia Ave. in Columbia. He later visited three local hotels that evening, making arrangements for a friend’s bachelor party. He spoke with his family that night and told them he was on his way home, but never arrived…
