Suspended-license stop leads to drug, firearm charges

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, S.C. (WACH) — A Fairfield County man has been arrested on multiple drug and weapons charges after a traffic stop, which later led to the search of his home, according to the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities say deputies stopped Robert Antonio James Jr. on July 1 in the Winnsboro area and arrested him on a charge of driving under suspension.

James is charged with two counts of possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of cocaine base, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm by a person convicted of possession with intent to distribute, and possession of a firearm by a person convicted of certain crimes…
