COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – If storms are able to fire up, some could contain strong or damaging wind gusts.

First Alert Summary:
A First Alert Weather Day remains in place for the potential of a few isolated strong to severe storms through this evening. It is more of a conditional threat. So if storms are able to initiate, they could become strong with damaging winds. A ‘Marginal 1/5 Risk’ and ‘Slight 2/5 Risk’ are outlooked for the Midlands for this potential.
We’ll kick off the new work week with more heat Monday along with a slight chance of PM storms. High temperatures tomorrow afternoon are expected to peak in the middle 90s with heat index values up to 103-degrees. A few pop-up downpours or thunderstorms may also bubble up with the heating of the day, but the chance of rain in general is low (20%).
The chance of rain and storms is forecast to increase quite a bit by the middle to end of the work week courtesy of an incoming front and deep tropical moisture moving in.
