COLUMBIA, S.C. — The hot and mainly dry pattern will hold on for one more day before a slow-moving cold front brings a much more active stretch of weather to the Midlands.
High temperatures will once again climb into the mid-90s on Wednesday with heat index values reaching between 100 and 105 degrees during the afternoon.
Most communities will stay dry through much of the day, although a few isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms could develop Wednesday afternoon and evening during the peak heating hours.
The better chances for rain holds off until at least Wednesday night as the cold front slowly approaches from the north.
That front is expected to stall across the region late this week, becoming the focus for repeated rounds of showers and thunderstorms through at least Saturday…
