Historic Columbia to host 48th annual Jubilee Festival this Saturday

Considered one of the Midlands’ biggest celebrations of Black history, culture, music and community, the 48th annual Jubilee: Festival of Black History & Culture will return to the historic Mann-Simons Site in downtown Columbia this Saturday, September 19.

The free, family-friendly festival hosted by Historic Columbia will once again feature a robust line-up of live entertainment, a vibrant marketplace of local vendors, as well as delicious food and drinks at the festival food court.

Guests will be able to explore Black history through free tours of the Mann-Simons Site and by taking educational bus trips exploring nearby historic Black neighborhoods or by getting a hands-on history lesson from demonstration artists in crafts such as sweetgrass basket weaving…
