A fatal vehicle-pedestrian collision in the 7600 block of Garners Ferry Road on Tuesday left one pedestrian dead, the Columbia Police Department announced in a press release today.
The CPD’s Traffic Safety Unit said they are still investigating the incident. Their preliminary investigation suggests the vehicle was traveling westbound when the driver struck the pedestrian.
The pedestrian was unlawfully in the street and was not within a crosswalk when they were hit, the news release said. Their injuries sustained from the collision were too severe to be treated, and they died as a result. The driver’s condition was not disclosed…
