WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – Riverbanks Zoo and Garden is requesting the rezoning of 80 acres near its West Columbia campus as part of an expansion project.
“We’re just looking forward to making it bigger and better for everyone who gets to experience and come all the time,” said Matt Perron, public relations manager with Riverbanks Zoo and Garden.
The expansion is part of a 10-year master plan costing roughly $140 million. The zoo is now in the second phase of the plan, which began with the Saluda Sky Ride. Zoo officials are hopeful to have the master plan completed by 2029…
