COLUMBIA, S.C. — Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott has announced the arrest of a former deputy following a traffic stop by the South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP) on Wednesday, May 20, 2026.
Around 10:08 p.m., Wednesday, a SCHP trooper made a traffic stop on Bluff Rd on a gray Toyota pickup truck for a traffic violation. The driver, identified as Spencer Matthew Link, 35, was believed to be under the influence of alcohol and was placed under arrest for driving under the influence (DUI).
