SMITHS STATION, Ala. (WRBL) — A Columbus, Georgia woman is accused of robbing a Dollar General store in Smiths Station at gunpoint Friday afternoon before being arrested minutes later.
According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, the robbery happened around 1:12 p.m. at the Dollar General on Lee Road 246. Witnesses told investigators the suspect displayed a silver revolver-style handgun and stole about $300 from the register before fleeing.
Authorities say the suspect then ran to nearby bushes, where witnesses reported seeing her change clothes. She then allegedly got into a pink-and-white taxi that left the area toward Phenix City…
