Columbus police arrest 44 people in March warrant sweep

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – More than 40 people with outstanding warrants were taken into custody in March as a result of targeted operations by Columbus Police Department’s fugitive task force, special operations unit and the United States Marshals Service.

Columbus police said the arrests cleared 105 felony charges and 20 misdemeanor charges, along with multiple probation violations, failure to appear warrants and contempt warrants.

In all, 44 people were arrested, including three murder suspects…
