Teenagers trespassed from Columbus Zoo after incident Saturday

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office said several teenagers were trespassed from the Columbus Zoo and Zoombezi Bay after deputies responded to an incident over the weekend.

The Columbus Zoo said in a statement on Saturday, June 13, that there was a group of guests “roughhousing” and running through Zoombezi Bay, which created safety concerns for other guests in and near several attractions.

“Our team addressed the behavior and asked approximately 10 individuals (ages 17 to 19) to leave the water park,” the zoo said in the statement. “When they refused to comply, law enforcement assisted in escorting them from the property.”…
