Fatal shooting began as large-scale fight outside north Columbus Kroger

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — The fatal shooting of a man in north Columbus began as a large-scale fight outside of a Kroger grocery store, according to an incident report.

A court affidavit from Columbus police reports that officers were called to a Kroger, Saturday afternoon, on Worthington Center Drive in Worthington Woods, south of Polaris. Just before 3:30 p.m., officers located one victim of the fight.

Police were advised that a second victim took himself to a hospital after being shot and was later pronounced dead at 5:11 p.m. He was later identified as Aboubacar Fofana. For more top stories on NBC4 view the video player above.

At the scene of the fight, police located a shell casing and interviewed the first victim, who said he was walking to his vehicle in the Kroger parking lot when four or five individuals attacked him. The victim said during the attack he heard a gunshot and multiple people fled the scene…
