COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — A 1-year-old child is dead after suffering from a gunshot wound Saturday night.
One person dead in south Columbus, suspect charged with murder
Columbus Police responded to reports of a shooting at the 3000 block of Quinby Drive just before 11 p.m., where they found Jashawn Butler with an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to a hospital in critical condition where he died just after midnight.
The child’s father, Deshawn Butler, 35, turned himself into Columbus Police Headquarters after he initially fled the scene, a media release said. He was charged with felony child endangering.
