Columbus police say an early morning call to the city’s south side ended with a homicide investigation, after officers found a shooting victim dead along Lockbourne Road.
Authorities located the victim in the 2800 block of Lockbourne Road. The person was pronounced dead at the scene, and homicide detectives were called in to begin their investigation.
What police say
According to NBC4, officers were dispatched to the 2800 block of Lockbourne Road yesterday morning, where they found a person suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The Columbus Division of Police said the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives are working to piece together what happened. Police said they do not yet know when the shooting occurred and are still sorting through the early details.
