Storms cause severe damage, power outages in central Ohio

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Strong storms and heavy rain hit the eastern portions of central Ohio between 3 and 5 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, causing building damage and flooded roads.

Significant damage was sustained at a church in Newark with the roof completely torn off from the top of the building.

Folks in Zanesville and across Muskingum County are trekking through flooded roadways while Chillicothe received multiple inches of rain over a short period of time.
