COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Coshocton Public Health District and the Highland County Health Department confirmed Thursday that bats have tested positive for rabies.
In Coshocton, one bat was confirmed with rabies in Franklin Township. The Highland County Health Department didn’t state where the other bat was found.
“Rabies is a serious disease, but there is no need for panic,” said Kristina Bell, Coshocton Public Health Commissioner. “We want to remind our community to follow these steps, and seek medical help promptly if you have been exposed. Treatment for rabies is highly effective, if sought quickly.”…
