COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — A Massachusetts man pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and endangering children Monday in connection with the death of a 2-year-old boy in 2020.
Dioblis Williams, 26, of Worchester, Massachusetts, was sentenced to 13 to 18.5 years in prison. Initially, he pleaded not guilty to murder and endangering children in Sept. 2025.
The charges came five years after Williams was reportedly babysitting for his girlfriend’s son, Jamir Jones, who died on March 25, 2020, from apparent blunt force trauma.

Williams called police, who found Jones unresponsive at an apartment on Holt Avenue in North Central Columbus. He told officers that he placed Jones in the bathtub unsupervised after he “pooped” in his pull up, and several minutes later, he was found unconscious. He was taken to a hospital where he later died…
