CANAL WINCHESTER, Ohio — Emergency crews are searching for as many as five people reported missing after flash flooding swept through homeless encampments in the Canal Winchester area Thursday, according to Columbus Fire Chief Brian Barnhart.
Barnhart described the ongoing response as a “mass casualty incident” and said a couple of homeless camps were “wiped out” by the flooding along Blacklick Creek.
