Ohio Open Doors spotlights rarely seen artifacts in Muskingum County

Muskingum County History will open a rarely seen section of the Dr. Increase Mathews House Museum and showcase historic textiles, giving visitors a chance to explore parts of the collection that are not normally available to the public.

The event is part of Ohio Open Doors, a statewide program sponsored every other year by the Ohio History Connection, according to a community announcement. Created in 2016, the program encourages owners of historic buildings to welcome visitors and highlight sites that may not regularly be accessible.

Public viewing of the special exhibit will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. Sept. 10-12. Admission will be free at both the Dr. Increase Mathews House Museum and the Stone Academy Museum during those hours…
